Earlier today, several crypto users pointed out suspicious activity on the crypto exchange BingX, leading them to think the exchange has been compromised. However, the ‘suspicious draining’ of amounts could also be a result of withdrawals being opened after maintenance of the exchange.
Web3 Antivirus firm, De.Fi Antivirus Web3, warned users of a possible attack on BingX in a post, “Reportedly, BingX CEX is exploited, and huge funds are being transferred out from its hot wallets. Over $20,000,000 is estimated loss over different chains so far”.

As soon as the news started spreading like wildfire, some users pulled up an announcement by BingX on ‘Temporary Wallet Maintenance’. As per the notice, “Due to temporary maintenance of the wallet system, there may be a delay in the crediting time of deposits and withdrawals during the maintenance.” As a result, the exchange has ensured users with restoration within 24 hours and issued an advisory for withdrawing and depositing later.
