The Global Dev Competition 2018, held in Hangzhou, China, was a huge success, and this time, Bytom.io wows to make it even bigger. The 2019 DevCon2 final will be held in San Francisco, and $100,000 will be awarded in prize money.
Bytom first announced Bytom Global Dev Competition 2019 during the New York Blockchain Week last month. Teams from across the globe will participate, and those from India, Venezuela, Zambia, Taiwan, and the US have already registered. The last date of registration on 2nd August 2019. The primary motive of this competition is to find innovative tech talent for Bytom blockchain, to develop and enhance the capabilities and sustainability of the open-source ecosystem.
A total of $100,000 worth prizes are set for 2019. The winner will get $30,000 worth BTM token, the native cryptocurrency of the Bytom blockchain. The two second and three third prize winners will get $10,000 and $5,000 worth BTM tokens each. Bytom will also give $3,000 worth BTM tokens to 10 participants as a recognition award. The preliminary rounds will take place between 3 to 7 August, while the finals will be held on 24th and the 25th.
Bytom has laid down a few important rules which every participant group/individual needs to follow to avoid any difficulty. Few important points from the guidelines are:
- A group participant can have a maximum of five members. Individuals are free to team up, but cannot enter the competition more than once.
- Any participant infringing intellectual property will be disqualified.
- Each project registered must be build either on Bytom ecosystem or Bytom smart contract.
- Every application submitted will undergo scrutiny by the organizing committee. Entry will be subjected only to the approval by the committee.
Last year, over 100 teams participated in the competition, from major blockchain tech regions like the US, Europe, South Korea, and China. Over 2 million BTM tokens were distributed in prize money, between the 16 eams selected for the final round.
