Bytom’s Global Developer Competition: The Countdown Begins

The clock is ticking for the upcoming Global Dev Competition. In early September, blockchain protocol Bytom had announced the launch of its Global Dev Competition for all developers. The prize money for the competition had been published as 2 Million Bytom (BTM) Tokens.

Bytom believes that the competition will promote the application of blockchain technology and help strengthen the exchange and collision of tech experts in China and abroad.

The registration process for the competition is still open. Initially, the participants would have to appear for a preliminary online contest. Those who qualify would continue with the final stages to be held in Hangzhou, China from 18−21 October 2018. Also, scheduled is a Bytom Developers’ Conference to be held in Silicon Valley at the end of October.

The two-day development contest aims to identify more developers from around the world. This is in lines with Bytom’s aim to strengthen and further develop its sustainable open-source ecosystem.

With the event just around the corner, Bytom has provided three directions to the competitors. The first is a tokenized economy. Developers can tokenize their assets based on the Bytom blockchain, issue tokens and create apps.

The second involves supporting tools. Bytom believes that some tools developed by its in-house team need improvement. For example, the Btm-scan (a blockchain browser) and Al Miner (a mining optimization tool). The competitors can help Bytom in this process.

The third, developers can create asset-based DAPPs, which can be used for equity, bonds, and financing based on the Bytom blockchain.

Bytom strives to bridge the gap between the digital and physical worlds via a decentralized platform that allows transaction and exchange of all kinds of assets (digital/physical). And thereby, become the world’s biggest public blockchain network with scope to improve the liquidity, security, and value of assets stored within it.
