ChainLink Expands Portfolio With NFT Partnership From Megaverse

Megaverse becomes the newest member of the ChainLink family with the Verifiable Random Function (VRF) integration. The new randomization function plays a key role in the distribution of Mega Hero NFTs on the Ethereum mainnet. Megaverse hopes to ensure its integrity among the community members through fair randomization of the NFT offerings.

Megaverse is one pioneer project that hopes to build a comprehensive environment for metaverse-related areas. The portfolio currently includes MegaFi, Mega NFTs, Mega VR, and Mega Builder, making the Mega DAO ecosystem. Mega NFTs are set to play a crucial role in enabling the features of this exciting ecosystem.

Firstly, Mega NFTs will be a natural pass to participate in future land sales in the metaverse. Not only that, but these NFTs could offer users a considerable advantage on exclusive NFT collections listed in the Megaverse marketplace. Mega NFTs’ expansive user cases also lead to early access to the privileges offered in the Megaverse Alpha game, the next round of Mega NFT sales, and several other game assets and NFTs.

Currently, there is a maximum of 10,000 Mega Heroes in the collection. These are made with different classes and multiple designs to ensure each user receives a unique item. And what’s more, users can now mint up to 10 Mega Hero NFTs per wallet.

These NFTs will be offered randomly through the tamper-proof VRF from ChainLink Oracle. The project has decided to integrate ChainLink owing to a lack of reliable Random Number Generators (RNG) in the crypto space.

The existing RNG protocols require smart contract support to ensure the integrity of the operations. They also come with their own set of setbacks depending on where the data is derived from. For example, while on-chain RNG solutions come with the chance of being exploited by validators, the external API-based solutions have no definitive proof of integrity.

The decision to integrate ChainLink VRF from Megaverse comes after much thought and deliberation. The VRF function was developed after extensive academic research and with cutting-edge technology. Moreover, ChainLink is a time-tested network that can deploy cryptographic solutions to ensure integrity and fairness.

Unlike other RNG solutions, ChainLink VRF keeps the data untouched and unknown while generating a random number. The random number needs to be accompanied by cryptographic proof to be accepted by the Mega Hero NFT smart contracts. This VRF is entirely tamper-proof and automated, which means no one, including Megaverse and ChainLink, will be able to interfere with the results.

In recent times, ChainLink has become the industry standard for oracle solutions. Besides its price feeds, new launches like the Verifiable Random Function and Automated ChainLink Keepers have been gaining momentum among NFT and GameFi projects.
