Chainlink VRF to Verify Randomness for Block Ape Scissors

Block Ape Scissors has recently announced the integration of Chainlink on the platform as a decentralized oracle provider. Chainlink is one of the most widely used and trusted oracle networks in the blockchain industry. It provides clients with off-chain computational services and real-world data on leading blockchains.

Chainlink VRF or Verifiable Random Function was recently integrated on the Block Ape Scissors platform. Chainlink VRF will verify the randomly generated layers on the farming protocol of Block Ape Scissors. It will also assess how random loot boxes are being generated.

The integration of Chainlink VRF on the farm protocol and loot boxes is discussed below:

Chainlink VRF with Farming Protocol

Through verifiable random function, Block Ape Scissors will offer a personalized yield farming protocol to its smart contracts. The protocol will establish a randomization layer before the contracts where they need to assign daily percentage yield or DPY. Block Ape Scissors can access cryptographically secure randomness through VRF. In return, users will definitely gain a gamified yield experience.

Chainlink VRF to Mint Random Loot Boxes

It is set to introduce redeemable loot box tokens in the market. This will help to mint loot boxes through a variable probabilistic weighting model. This will let users know about the number of LB tokens used for the mint. The randomness of loot boxes is being verified through VRF. A wide range of NFTs is expected to be generated for games and farms.

To know how VRF verifies randomness, one needs to know how it works. Technically, a VRF combines block data with a pre-committed private key of oracle that will generate a random number and a cryptographic proof explaining the generation of the random number. The block data is not known when the request is placed.

A tamper-proof VRF process will ensure the authenticity of a cryptographic report that eventually will make the smart contracts accept the generated random number. Therefore, Chainlink VRF assures users that the random numbers generated are fair and not tempered or predicted by other users, outside entities, oracle, or even by the development team. The whole process will be executed on-chain and is automated.

Organizations dealing in off-chain and on-chain programming consider Chainlink to be the perfect solution to provide functionalities to inter-platform multi-players and MAU’s that build blockchains.

Block Ape Scissors also wants to include more Chainlink decentralized services, like Chainlink Keepers, to automate functionalities of Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol and key smart contract functions on play-to-earn games.

The Block Ape Scissors team is all delighted to power its decentralized oracle requirements through Chainlink. Chainlink VRFensures class integrations across its IBM HYPER Protect Crypto Services Infrastructure. The team is also willing to take this engagement with Chainlink forward to pioneer innovative mechanics into its system.
