Cleveland Science Museum Welcomes Crypto Payments
After universities embracing the blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies, a prime museum in the US will soon be operating on crypto-payments.
Reportedly, Great Lakes Science Center a museum and also an educational facility in downtown Cleveland, Ohio is intending to accept its payments in crypto. Also, the museum will be using BitPay to process Bitcoin payments. With that, the museum is aimed to offer an enhanced experience to visitors. The modification is supposed to be effective from November 13, 2018
Although, it is the third museum to adapt to this change, as Museum of the Coastal Bend in Texas and St. Petersburg Museum of History in Florida already have been accepting payments in cryptocurrencies.
About Great Lakes Science Center’s step towards crypto, Kirsten Ellenbogen, CEO of the museum believes that the institution decided to accept crypto to take forward the growth of the local blockchain ecosystem.
Ellenbogen stated, “There is a lot of excitement around the conference. Accepting bitcoin is just a small part of the momentum to grow a blockchain ecosystem in Cleveland.”
As Ellenbogen says, the newly issued mobile app deploys augmented and virtual reality to give a new experience to visitors. It enables visitors to purchase admission tickets through cryptocurrencies. Also, it allows the visitors to analyze the work plethora of NASA.
She expressed, “Last year we launched our mobile app that uses augmented and virtual reality to allow guests to experiment with flames in space and test spacecraft designs re-entering Earth’s atmosphere when they visit the NASA Glenn Visitor Center, and now they’ll be able to use their phone to pay for their admission using Bitcoin.”
Additionally, this declaration of the museum regarding crypto-payments comes ahead of the museum’s inaugural Blockland Solutions Conference. It will be a four-day event, scheduled in December. The conference will enlighten the visitors about the future of blockchain technology.
The crypto payment systems seem viable, as most of the significant industries are adopting it. The worldwide acceptance of blockchain is increasing at a massive level. Implementing blockchain and digital currency can help to attract consumer traffic towards the product or service.
