Department of Science and Technology to Organize Blockchain Summit India to Develop Blockchain Ecosystem in the Country

The Department of Science and Technology (DST) under the Government of India is organizing the “Blockchain Summit India” on 22nd and 23rd February 2019, to channel the country’s potential around blockchain technology and crypto economy. The event is organized in association with L-Incubator under the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow and Auxesis Group. The event will be hosted at the Noida campus of IIM Lucknow.

The initiative is being taken by the Government to help better understand the blockchain technology that is making an impact worldwide and draft out policies to accelerate the development of such an ecosystem in the country. The planned event is aimed to figure out the Global Blockchain market and find the Blockchain solutions to improve the growth rate of the Indian markets. They also hope to understand and shape cryptocurrencies for an emerging India. Global brands such as Google and ISB have partnered with DST for the summit.

A crowd of over 5,000 delegates and 100s of blockchain investors and enthusiasts are expected to attend the summit and make the most out of it. Crypto economists from around the world, global community builders and academicians from renowned institutions, are invited for the event. Their expertise in the subject matter hopes to help their Indian counterparts to gain technical know-how and experience. The mega event will include senior faculties from India’s premium academic institutions to focus on technology & ecosystem development at educational levels. Many policymakers including sitting MLA’s, bureaucrats and technical experts in the field of Science, Law, Commerce, and HRD are also expected to be attending the summit as per a statement released by the organizers.

BSI 2019 is proposed so that there shall be a high level of interactivity and premium networking. The summit will also be host to an expo for the world’s top blockchain & cryptocurrency companies. The Summit aims at providing a platform for selected companies and blockchain startups in the country to interact and exhibit their expertise to ministers and policymaker. They will get an opportunity to work with the government to grow in the Indian Blockchain ecosystem. Companies will also be provided with grants and funding from L-Incubator, IIM Lucknow and other public and private organizations.
