Digitized Landmarks – A Fresh First In The Short History Of NFTs

The NFT-focused blockchain platform, Enjin, has announced its partnership with Virtual Worlds, an industry leader with over 20 years of expertise in digitizing historical and iconic monuments.

To mark the partnership’s commencement, Enjin, and Virtual Worlds will collaborate to produce a limited-edition NFT set of Egypt’s renowned historical monuments, including the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx of Egypt. While an official date of release hasn’t been announced, owners of these NFTs will be able to display them in their Virtual Worlds environments as well as hold the photorealistic digital replicas in their hands.

Virtual Worlds has an extensive history of creating mesmerizing 3D replicas of historical marvels, combining detailed historical accuracy with compelling narratives. The brand has been digitizing the world’s most impressive landmarks using high-definition photogrammetry and the Unreal Engine for over 20 years, working alongside some of the biggest entertainment brands, including Amazon, Netflix, and Disney.

With its massive collection of digitized assets, Virtual Worlds will use Enjin’s underlying technology to introduce new NFT gamification opportunities. The collaboration with Enjin also marks the first-ever instance of producing NFTs from digitized historical models, enabling a novel way of allowing users to interact with iconic masterpieces worldwide using blockchain, 3D technology, and NFTs.

Excited to be a part of this partnership, Elliott Mizroch, CEO of Virtual Worlds, mentioned,

At Virtual Worlds, we’re bringing the world’s most important artifacts and monuments to a new digital ecosystem, preserving them for future generations and making them accessible to the world in ways they’ve never been before. With Enjin behind us, our past global heritage can be shared and live on in our digital future.

Pioneering New Uses For NFTs

Enjin supports the development of interoperable blockchains, making it easy for developers to include NFTs in their products. The platform focuses on making NFTs accessible to everyone by powering virtual economies through its scalable blockchain technology.

The strategic partnership between Enjin and Virtual Worlds sets the wheels in motion for massive new use cases of NFTs, including gamification opportunities. By design, Enjin is NFT-focused. Meanwhile, Virtual Worlds extensive collection of digitized historical monuments will play a pivotal role in unifying 3D technology with NFTs.

The first phase of the Enjin and Virtual Worlds collaboration will begin with the launch of treasure hunts, allowing participants to claim NFTs in virtual environments. Once claimed, participants will receive the NFT in their preferred wallet using Enjin’s underlying smart contract technology. In addition, both platforms plan to organize virtual events, with NFTs being used as tickets.

Virtual Worlds will use Enjin blockchain to integrate cross-chain NFTs into its AR/VR apps and 3D environments. It will also produce AAA-type games to promote iconic landmarks, ancient history, and global culture.

Maxim Blagov, CEO of Enjin, adds,

Virtual Worlds is bridging the best 3D graphics and user experience through NFTs. This is one more demonstration of how NFTs can be used to engage players, create new virtual worlds and economies, and connect all digital ecosystems into a single multiverse. This is also an amazing opportunity to connect the digital with the real world through 1-to-1 replicas.
