Findora, the blockchain project for decentralized finance, has elected Joon Bhang, the former Executive Vice President of Korea’s second-biggest digital currency exchange Korbit, as its Head of Operations for the North Asia region. The company officially announced Bhang’s appointment on September 25, 2019.
Bhang’s Role in Findora:
At Findora, Bhang will be responsible for building relationships with significant corporations, government entities, as well as financial institutions, as part of the organization’s global expansion plans in North Asia, Japan, and Korea. The reports also reveal that Bhang will concentrate on building valuable partnerships with top institutions active in the fintech space. Apart from that, Bhang will formulate the correct service strategy along with the tailormade business model that best fits the partners’ individual requirements.

While talking about his new role, Bhang shed light on Findora’s mission of transforming the industry of financial services through the resolution of current pain points which include security vulnerabilities, high costs, unequal access, and inefficiencies. He shared that the company’s goal is to develop a decentralized global financial infrastructure for the attainment of which, they are combining revolutionary cryptography with impeccable business sense. Bhang was also quoted saying,

CEO of Findora, Charles Lu, also expressed his delight over Bhang’s appointment in the team while they are continuing their momentum of forming a new international financial system, letting users control their financial data, assets, and identity. Continuing further, Lu said that Joon has the required technical expertise, business acumen, and greater vision for transitioning seamlessly into their team and make a prompt impact.
Joon Bhang Bio:
Mr.Bhang has an extensive experience that spans over two decades in fintech, conventional finance, blockchain, digital currency, as well as business consulting with several top entities in the world. He has done his graduation from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
He had started his career with the Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi. His consultancy career saw him working in the financial service practice at prominent companies such as Boston Consulting Group, A.T. Kearney, and Oliver Wyman. He has also co-founded and headed iLytics as its CEO, a platform offering credit card analytics and marketing. In addition to that, Bhang has been a Global Business & Corporate Strategy Head and EVP of CJ Foodville, a global Korean food, and catering firm. As noted earlier, he has also worked with Korbit as an EVP.

Bhang joins the Findora team after the company recently appointed two expert strategic advisors in the form of Professor Dan Boneh and Balaji Srinivasan. While Balaji has served as Coinbase’s former CTO, Boneh is known for heading the Cryptography Group of Stanford University.
