Gala Games Unveils “Project Saturn” as Battlestar Galactica-Themed Game
After the initial “Project Saturn” announcement last week, Gala Games finally unveiled the mystery behind it on June 6. The new project is planned as a strategy-based MMO game and based on Battlestar Galactica, a popular Syfy show that aired between 2003 and 2004 for 4 seasons. Gala has partnered with Universal Games and Revolving Games to bring this exciting game to the Galaverse.
Last week, Gala Games announced a mysterious game project that it has referred to as “Project Saturn” to its community. After a week, it was confirmed that the mysterious game is Battlestar Galactica with an intergalactic, post-apocalyptic storyline.
The game’s story begins with the Cylon attacking the twelve colonies of humans, leaving them in ruins. The players will take on the role of human survivors to rebuild their bases and collect resources to withstand further attacks from the Cylon. The survivors will scavenge the colonies’ left and build back their bases to fend off any further attacks from the enemies.
The threats to humanity will increase as the territory grows further. As they level up, the players will be allowed to join alliances to fight the Cylon. The collected resources can be used to rebuild the technology and recapture the territories. This strategy game prioritizes cooperation and socialization as the necessary skills for the gameplay.
The game will be designed to roll out in seasons, with each season presenting a new war, world, and life that the users need to adapt to. Every season comes with goals that the players need to complete through individual and collective play. How the players strategize and play will reflect on what will happen to their world in the upcoming seasons.
The game will be set in the same universe as the tv show, roughly 40 years after the first Cylon War. Depending on their strategies, the player colonies will differ in technology, lifestyle, and army. Moreover, there will be individual and collective scoreboards to keep track of your achievements.
The new Battlestar Galactica MMO game will be developed into the Galaverse ecosystem by Revolving Games in partnership with Gala Games, Universal Games, and Digital Games.
