Greyp Collaborates With Two Blockchain Entities to Launch an Automatic Payment System

Greyp, the sister concern of leading car manufacturing firm Rimac Automobili, has entered into a strategic partnership deal with two blockchain-based platforms- slock.it and the Energy Web Foundation or the EWF. The collaboration aims to curate an automatic payment system for Greyp’s IoT vehicles.

The company unveiled the proof of concept for each of its application cases in the earlier part of the year. These payments will be initiated as machine-to-machine trading operations like tolls, rentals, and renewable charging facilities. The solution will also allow customers to enjoy cryptocurrency-aided options. Greyp is a well-known startup which renders investors to own an equity share in the firm with a minimum investment of €100 on the Neufund financing platform.

Kresimir Hlede, the reputed COO of Greyp, shared views regarding the team-up by saying that,

We envision a network where every vehicle has a digital ‘wallet’ enabling autonomous machines to receive and create payments, both to humans and to other machines.

He further added that,

This is a big step forward toward realizing our vision for a sustainable, connected future. We are excited to be working with slock.it and the Energy Web Foundation to achieve this.

The Croatian electric bike and mobility tech startup, Greyp is adamant about exploring different fields and options for strengthening its roots deep into the marketspace. Apart from the automatic payments system, the firm is also planning to evolve as industry leaders by lending support to third-party mobility apps. This expansion plan of Greyp lies in line with its CEO Mate Rimac’s perspectives of formulating “a connected future of zero emissions, zero accidents, and zero ownership.”

Mate Rimac quoted,

We are grateful for our support in the bike community. Now, we are taking the next step toward building an integrated network that can support an unlimited array of interoperable, sustainable, smart mobility options. And it is rewarding to collaborate to build this future with such innovative groups as the Energy Web Foundation and slock.it.

Jesse Morris, who works as Chief Commercial Officer of EWF, stated that,

Our mission is for blockchain-based solutions to accelerate a low-carbon, customer-centric electricity future. In the years ahead, we forecast that customers will invest more in the grid than utilities. Electric mobility is a key part of that megatrend. We are proud to partner with Greyp to make it one step closer to reality.
