Since its launch on March 26, 2024, Hamster Kombat has exploded onto the scene, attracting over 300 million players. Now, the game’s creators are ready to reward their community with 60 billion HMSTR tokens.

However, out of those 300 million players, only 131 million – about 43% – actually qualify for the airdrop. That’s left a lot of hamsters feeling left out.

Hamster Kombat airdrop breakdown

The airdrop breakdown goes like this: 88.75% of tokens (roughly 53.25 billion) will hit qualified wallets right away. The remaining 11.25% (about 6.75 billion) gets locked up for 10 months after listing.

Notably, the Hamster Kombat team has banned 2.3 million accounts for suspected cheating, automatically disqualifying them from the airdrop.

The announcement has elicited varied responses from the Hamster Kombat community. Some players have expressed frustration over what they see as betrayal due to unfair distribution.

One player commented, “Major token supply was allocated to **YouTubers/Influencers**, causing frustration among regular players.”

In an effort to boost engagement, Hamster Kombat introduced a new reward program on September 19. Users choosing to receive their airdrop through the game’s Telegram wallet can potentially earn up to 300% APY on their assets.

Despite the controversies, the scale of this airdrop is undeniably large. With 75% of the total 100 billion HMSTR supply earmarked for the community, it represents a substantial distribution of digital assets.

The Hamster Kombat team is already teasing Season 2, promising “exciting features” for the upcoming phase. An additional 15% of tokens are being held back for future distributions.
