HitBTC Exchange Executes Bitcoin SV Genesis Hardfork Upgrade

The well-known and highly acclaimed cryptocurrency exchange trading platform, HitBTC, has announced that it has successfully supported the strategically important crypto event, the Bitcoin SV Genesis Hardfork Upgrade. Post the upgrade, all the prior versions of the Bitcoin SV node software will lose sync with the updated rules and will fail after the upgrade. The news has been made public through a tweet on the official Twitter handle of the exchange.

According to the reports published earlier, the Bitcoin SV Node team unveiled version 1.0.0 of the Bitcoin SV Node implementation on January 15, 2020. It was then stated that the upgrade will be a required upgrade and will be activated on February 4, 2020. The community urged the networks to upgrade all the installations of Bitcoin SV Node implementation by the February 4, 2020 deadline.

One of the important attributes of the new upgrade is that two consensus parameters need to be manually configured, as in the absence of this feature, the software will fail to run. These parameters include

• excessiveblocksizeconsensus- This parameter reveals the maximum block size that the software will accept. The blocks which will cross the value prescribed by the parameter will be considered invalid.
• maxstackmemoryusageconsensus- This parameter specifies the maximum amount of stack memory that a script can infuse during evaluation. The transactions whose script value will surpass the parameter limit will be considered invalid. It will run during block validation as it is a consensus parameter.
