Craig Wright’s difficulties seem to be growing day by day, with the lawsuit against him tightening its grip. John McAfee, though, is enjoying every bit of this.
When Wright made an open claim that he was Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin, McAfee was among the firsts to reject it. Ever since the two computer scientists have had a war of words. McAfee continued debunking Wright’s claim, and time again stated that he was just a fraud who would be exposed very soon. On the other hand, Wright threatened to sue McAfee, like he did with his other critics as well.
Amid all this tussle with other industry counterparts and John McAfee, Craig Wright had to face a lawsuit filed by the estate of his deceased partner, David Kleiman. The suit accuses Wright of forging Kleiman’s signature and stealing away Bitcoins worth $10 billion. Wright claimed that the Bitcoins is question always belonged to him, and he did not steal, in reply to which the court ordered him to furnish the proofs of owning the coins prior to the death of David Kleiman.
Even after repeated attempts, Wright failed to prove his ownership and recently admitted that he doesn’t have the access to the older Bitcoins, which the court demanded. Instead, Wright started misbehaving in the court, throwing paper, and using profane language. When the court ordered him to behave normally, Wright began crying.
The news of the court drama spread quickly, and McAfee took a particular liking to the incident. He tweeted that he was waiting to meet Wright in the court himself.
I love this. Craig Wright, in a lawsuit against him, crawled into his lawyer's arms and bawled. Wait til he meets me in court. pic.twitter.com/7WvgsfoDhU

Wright’s failure to prove that he owned the $10 billion worth Bitcoins will have multiple effects. Firstly, it could might indicate that Wright did steal the Bitcoins from Kleiman. Secondly, it could hurt the image of Bitcoin SV, the cryptocurrency which he actually created. Thirdly, and most interestingly, this could have severe damage his claim of being Nakamoto. The one who is truly the creator of Bitcoin needs to prove it by presenting the earliest keys to access the Bitcoin genesis block, and the subsequent early blocks, which Wright has failed to do yet.
So as of now, McAfee is having an upper hand in the war, which could also be the last laugh in this Wright-Nakamoto saga.
