The Tron ecosystem has evolved to become one of the most successful and used blockchain networks. Since its ‘independence’ from Ethereum, a lot has happened on the network, which has pushed the token and the network among the top rankings ones. Let’s take a look at three fantastic things that have helped the Tron Community to be counted among the best:

1. Tron acquired BitTorrent, then launched the BitTorrent Token

When Tron acquired BitTorrent, the peer-to-peer files sharing network back in July 2018, it became one of the most talked about tech acquisitions of the year. The interesting part is that Tron was able to crack the deal, even though other prominent blockchains like NEO tried their very best to acquire the successful platform.

The acquisition turned out to be a masterstroke, with subsequent activities ensuring a booming future ahead. Riding on the success of TRX, Tron launched the BTT token on its network, especially focused on the development of the BitTorrent platform, and has been received quite optimistically by the markets.

2. Crossed the mark of 3 million accounts on the network

Since inception, Tron has managed to garner acceptance from developers, soon expanding its dev community. Newer dapps were added, focused on various genres, right from blockchain gaming, to crypto exchanges. In fact, Tron has become one of the most preferred platforms for online gambling dapps.

All of this gave Tron an exposure to a wide variety and a large number of users. The efforts the dev community kept taking resulted in the total accounts om the Tron Blockchain crossing the 3 million mark on 14^th June 2019. This was quite special, as it was leading Ethereum, from which it broke away, by over 8 million blocks.

3. Tron and Sun jointly donated over $9 million towards charity

Cryptocurrencies came into existence to break the barriers created by the traditional monetary system and serve the society with utmost user-focused values. Therefore, taking the legacy forward, crypto companies are known to be a part of several social initiatives and philanthropic efforts. Tron is no exception in this regard.

The platform has donated over $9 million towards charity between June 2018 to June 2019. Out of this, Sun donated over $4.5 million in an auction bid, for the Charity Lunch with Warren Buffett. The proceeds of the auction amount were donated to Glide Foundation, an initiative that feeds hundreds of thousands on initiatives, across the globe. The foundation also made a donation of $3 million towards Binance Charity Foundation, which helps the underprivileged in Africa with a medical and nutritional aide.
