Justin Sun’s Withdrawal from Lunch with Warren Buffett Gets More Dramatic, Found Partying

Justin Sun is suddenly trapped in a series of controversies, soon after Tron Foundation informed that the Power of One Lunch with Warren Buffett had been postponed. Rumors are all over the internet, and they haven’t stopped popping up. Let’s take a look at the series of events, right from the beginning till date:

Justin Sun won the auction bid for $4.57 million, an amount to be paid to the GLIDE Foundation, in June. Since then he has been promoting the event, and invited big names from the industry, like Charlie Lee, Livio Wang, Helen Hai, Jeremy Allaire, and Yoni Assia. He had also invited Binance Chief Changpeng Zhao, who declined the invitation taking a jab at Buffett for his staunch criticism of crypto.

Following the announcement of the lunch, mixed reactions came from the community. While some considered the event to be a great opportunity to convince the Berkshire Hathaway CEO about legitimacy and benefits of cryptocurrencies, many criticized it. For instance, CZ said that the lunch us being sponsored by “rat poison money,” taking a dig at Buffett’s similar remark on Bitcoin last year. Nonetheless, TRON chief continued to promote the lunch and had also said that ‘something big’ was coming.

Everything seemed to be going well when out of nowhere, Tron Foundation announced that the lunch had been postponed because of Justin Sun’s deteriorating health due to kidney stones. Just a few hours after the withdrawal announcement, a Chinese business news portal claimed that Justin Sun was in mainland China, and not in San Francisco. The media house also accused Tron of facilitating illegal trade activities, and his previous creation Peiwo App of supporting pornography.

Justin Sun denied all the charges against him, via a post on Weibo, though didn’t deny being in China. And then came Sun’s open apology letter on Weibo, in which he apologized of conducting excessive promotion for the event, which invited the undue attention from authorities.

Allegedly, Sun and his entire team were heavily investigated, and the latter was kept in detention until Sun pulled out of the event. Eventually, Sun had to withdraw, leaving several questions unanswered.

The story has now taken another turn, as a report online suggests that Sun, who postponed the lunch, claiming sickness, attended the Tron Influencer Party In the same city where the lunch was to be hosted. While this appearance at the event was brief, it comes just a day after the original lunch date has raised a few eyebrows.

While Sun had debunked the claims of him being in China by posting a video from Frisco, little is known about his crew, who were also allegedly detained under border control.
