Krafton’s RisingWings Announces NFT Sale for COMPETZ

Krafton subsidiary RisingWings brings its first-ever Profile Picture NFT minting for its global eSports service COMPETZ. The first round of the minting will carry 1000 NFTs, which can be used as profile pictures on the COMPETZ platform. This offering brings several including whitelist, airdrops, and other benefits from the eSports platform.

The offering would be available only to those who make advance deposits on the platform between May 9 at 7 p.m. and May 10 at 7 p.m. (KST). Only those who complete the eligibility tasks would participate in the PFP NFT minting on the company’s blockchain network named BORA PORTAL. The minting would last only an hour on May 10 at 8 p.m., right after the advance deposits end.

The NFTs can be used on COMPETZ or traded for other collectibles or assets. These NFTs also come with other benefits across RisingWing platforms. The level of benefits will be dependent on the rarity of the NFT you have received. These NFTs are sorted based on their rarity as common, uncommon, rare, epic, and legendary.

First of all, users can use their NFTs to receive a portion of the entry fees collected from the games. These games will be launched on COMPETZ a few months from now, in 2022. And your rewards will be dependent on what level your NFT is. Users can also try getting more than one NFT to increase the rewards and benefits on the eSports platform.

Users who purchase the PFP NFTs will be whitelisted for exclusive perks during future events and giveaways. Those added to the whitelist will get early access to upcoming events and help purchase NFTs at a discounted price. They will also receive additional minting opportunities depending on their NFT level.

Another exciting aspect of this PFP NFT will be the BORA raindrop. As per the terms, one lucky winner from the event would be chosen to be awarded 1000 tBORAs, the native token of the BORA blockchain. And those who bought more than three of the NFTs will be rewarded with another 300 tBORAs each.

As per the reports released by RisingWings, the event was organized to drive up the excitement for the upcoming new releases on COMPETZ. Vice President Moon-Chul Kang from RisingWings also stated that the team plans to launch NFTs based-on game skins soon.

COMPETZ is already home to popular names like Archery King, Bowling King, Mini Golf King, and Golf King: World Tour. Furthermore, RisingWings plans to introduce several other new games on the eSports platform this year. Surprisingly, the plan includes all-time-favorite mini-games like Solitaire, Bingo, Pool, Mini Golf, and Hunting.

Krafton’s active interest in blockchain-based games seems like a reminder of the rapid growth of GameFi. As South Korea is already an established base for eSports, the inclusion of GameFi will complement the business there.
