Crypto.com is collaborating with NBA Superstar LeBron James and his foundation called the LeBron James Family Foundation.
The collaboration focuses on offering educational and vocational opportunities with a core focus on Web3. The objective is to give students access to tools and resources that will enable them to learn about blockchain technology.
A few days later, the collaboration seems to be doing its job pretty well. Crypto.com recently announced that it was airdropping a rare The Moment of Truth NFT collection to select 5,550 viewers of Super Bowl Ad.
This is working on a positive side as any royalty that is generated as a part of this sale will go to the LeBron James Family Foundation.
The non-fungible token collection features LeBron James having a conversation with his teen version about entering to win the limited NFT collection. The interesting part was that a QR code was flashed for 10 seconds. Those who picked up the view and scanned it were redirected to sign-up and stand a chance to win one of the 5,550 total non-fungible tokens for free.
The Moment Of Truth NFT collection is a collection of snapshots of behind the scene moments from the making of the Big Game Spot.
This was announced by Crypto.com through its official Twitter handle that said that it was airdropping the collection to a random selection of sleuths who found the hidden QR code in their big game spot.
Non-fungible tokens to be airdropped will be unavailable for sale in the market. However, any re-sale of these non-fungible tokens will generate 5% of royalties that will be directed to the LeBron James Family Foundation.
“I want to ensure that communities like the one I come from are not left behind,” stated James. He further added that he and Crypto.com are “aligned on the need to educate and support my community with the information and tools they need for inclusion.”
LeBron James comes from Akron, Ohio. Students in that region will now be able to learn about blockchain technology and their career path in the field of cryptocurrency. Mass adoption of cryptocurrency, or any other financial digital asset, is as successful as the level of knowledge people have about it.
In addition to LeBron James, Matt Damon is also a part of Crypto.com’s celebrity partner list. However, Matt Damon’s commercial has been subjected to more criticism by the community.
The criticism came as a result of Damon endorsing cryptocurrency despite the market losing more than $500 billion in combined market capitalization in January.
Crypto.com recently added the Angel City Football Club, an LA-based women’s sports team, as its partner.
