LINE Corporation & Theta Network to Launch Video App for Asia Expansion

Highly-acclaimed subsidiary brand of South Korea’s NAVER Corporation, LINE Corporation of Japan has announced the launch of an innovative video application named ‘THETA.tv for LINE’ in collaboration with Theta Network. The mobile-friendly service will be fueled by Theta’s protocol architecture and expertise of the LINE blockchain system. The application will benefit Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, and other parts of the Southeast Asian market with its services.

According to the report, THETA.tv video service will give the customers a fair opportunity to earn token rewards for sharing their bandwidth while using the portal. Users can pool rewards when enjoying premium esports, films, and crypto content. They can subscribe to streamers and make donations, similar to other apps available on the Theta ecosystem. The tokens earned on the app will be converted to the LINK token on LINE blockchain automatically to allow the users to use their LINK holdings on exchanges and other hubs.

This app will be easily accessible to the new users and current LINE customers as it is integrated into the LINE messenger app for seamless operations. LINE is a leading Japan-based instant messenger app with an expanded service base to various regions, including Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, etc. With its high-end services, the portal is fast-developing to other of the Asian market and presently has over 130M daily active customers on its system. The LINE Pay app allows users to send money on a P2P criterion and helps in retail purchasing. The LINE Taxi app also helps to demand food and taxi services, whereas the LINE MUSIC serves as a music app like Spotify.

The CEO of Theta Labs, Mitch Liu stated that collaboration is a crucial step that will help them in furthering their core objectives of development. The integration expands the outreach to its diverse content from partners such as NASA, MGM, CONtv Anime, FailArmy, and World Poker Tour.
