Medibloc Signs 12th Medical Institution MoU With Woorisoa Medical Foundation
According to the official Medium blog post, MediBloc and Woorisoa Medical Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on October 4 this year for healthcare platform development. While MediBloc is a reputed name in the healthcare blockchain sector globally, Woorisoa Medical Foundation is known for operating Seongbuk Woorisoa Children’s Hospital and Guro Woorisoa Children’s Hospital.
The MoU signing event took place at the conference room of Woorisoa Children’s Hospital in the presence of key personnel, including Dr. Seongkwan Jung, the Foundation’s Chairman, and Dr. Wookyun Kho and Dr. Eunsol Lee, MediBloc’s co-founders.
Both the institutions intend to develop and use next-gen Electronic Hospital Record (EHR) and Personal Health Record (PHR) system for the convenience of patients. The firms will also share each other’s facilities, networks, as well as human resources to attain these goals. The MoU will help Woorisoa Children’s Hospital in upgrading the quality of their medical service along with medical data development, revealed the blog.
Dr. Jung, the Foundation’s Chairman, was quoted saying,
Especially in Korea, the leading IT powerhouse, the 4th industrial revolution is expediting the technological developments in the relevant fields. I expect to give patients the best service as MediBloc, with exceptional blockchain technology, and the foundation, with diverse and robust clinical trial experience, cooperate.
MediBloc’s Co-Founder, Dr. Kho, said in a statement that they would continue discussing the terms for establishing this platform. Adding further, Dr. Kho shared that MediBloc would strive to build an exemplary case for a medical information system through the expansion of its business for safe management and utilization of the patients’ medical data.
It is important to note that this is the 12th MoU for MediBloc after its MoU with Seoul National University hospital, Cha Medical University, and Severance Hospital. As per the blog, the company looks to set up a patient-centered data platform with diverse institutions to expand its ecosystem.
