Metaxy now has access to a foolproof audit source to introduce randomness to Metaxy’s NFT chest sale by integrating the industry-leading decentralized oracle network. In the end, Chainlink VRF ensures that NFT chests are randomly distributed, resulting in a more thrilling, transparent, and fraud-proof user experience.

Metaxy integrated Chainlink because it required access to a secure random number generator (RNG) that users have complete freedom to audit and also distribute NFT chests. RNG solutions for all smart contracts necessitate a number of security considerations to avoid manipulation and maintain system integrity.
For example, miners can abuse RNG solutions from blockchain data such as block hashes. In contrast, off-chain solutions of the RNG by off-chain APIs do not offer consumers definitive evidence of the process’ integrity.

Chainlink VRF generates both a random number and the cryptographic proof by mixing block data having no data at the time of request with the oracle node’s pre-committed private key. The random number input accepted by Metaxy’s smart contract carries valid cryptographic proof, which can only be generated if the VRF method is tamper-proof.
