NFT Auction at Mexican Soccer Club on 115th Anniversary

NFTs are on a roll with numerous well-renowned bodies and personalities openly using them in 2021. Now, Chivas (The Club Deportivo Guadalajara), Mexico’s most popular soccer club, will be releasing its NFTs as well.

The club will celebrate its 115th anniversary by holding an NFT auction on Avalanche, which will take place on 7th June and will continue till 9th July. The news is generating buzz since the club will release unpublished items designed for global fans and collectors.

Chivas will also be donating a fraction of the funds raised during the auction to the Jorge Vergara Foundation. It is an NPO helping children and adolescents suffering from health issues worldwide. An open design contest will also take place on social media. Fans are asked to provide their NFT concepts to be included in the upcoming series.

Amaury Vergara (Chivas’ President) stated that the club has always believed in innovation and offering new experiences to its fans. With digital collectibles and NFTs going full throttle in Mexico, the club wants to approach fans digitally as well. Chivas will try to reach every fan in Guadalajara, Mexico, and even worldwide.

Ingmar Frey (Avocado Blockchain’s Managing Partner) and Ricardo Vazquez (who operates at AVA Labs’ business development) shared their thoughts as well. Both Avocado Blockchain and Ava Labs intend to stay open to innovation. Chivas is catering to the need, and the partnership will boost the adoption of digital collectibles and assets. It will also help the sports marketing sector gain new communication options.

The sheer popularity of the club is garnering immense attention on the web. Both club fans and collectors are waiting for the auction to get their hands on the valuables. The club decided to share a percentage for a noble cause helps the campaign garner even more buzz.

With NFTs breaching the sports industry, its involvement was expected to only grow over time. The expectations were met recently when Mexico’s most popular soccer club, Chivas, announced they would be holding an NFT-based auction on June 6. The club marks its 115th anniversary and will celebrate it by offering premium collectibles to fans and collectors. With a portion of the earnings going to charity, fans can expect the auction to get even more popular.
