Singapore-based independent investment platform Portal Asset Management has announced the launch of its first fund named the Portal Digital Fund. The newly unveiled fund project operates on a fund-of-funds module aimed at attracting big investors from the Asia-Pacific region. Portal Asset Management, meanwhile, is a prominent company that aids investments in digital currencies and blockchain ecosystems.
According to the latest piece of information related to the fund launch, the firm targets to have a whopping amount of more than US$100 million in funds under management in the near future. The initial funding phase will be closed on March 31, 2020, and will be carried on with dedicated attention given to the investors who enjoy a high net worth value, renowned family offices, and boutique institutional investors.
On Thursday, Portal made a statement concerning the launch of the fund, stating that the fund will render the investors with a golden opportunity to get exposed to a simple, reliable, and risk-secured solution for exploring the highly dynamic, fast-developing, yet complex ecosystem of the digital currencies.
With global assets now capable of being digitised, fractionated and traded using blockchain technologies, digital assets are set to become the fourth superclass, joining the traditional classes of store of wealth, capital and goods,
added the firm.
The company will channelize an extensive portfolio of constituting four and eight specialist global fund managers. This will help to offer returns not related to regular securities marketspace. The portfolio will be designed in a way that will lay stress on two investment streams- quantitative-driven trading, which will be focused on efficient, critically important, and arbitrage strategies; and long-only venture capital and private equity funds, which will be injecting capital in blockchain protocol infrastructure.
