In September 2024, Chris Larsen, Co-Founder of Ripple, made a series of large donations to Future Forward, a super PAC supporting Vice President Kamala Harris. According to official filings, Larsen contributed three separate donations totalling $9.89 million in cash to the PAC. Furthermore, data also show additional $1 million donation made in XRP in August, pushing the total donation above $10 million.

Real Intention Behind Ripple Co-Founder’s Support

Larsen’s contributions have erupted at a crucial point as crypto regulation take the center stage in the 2024 election cycle. His donation may be seen as an effort to back a candidate but the real intention remains unclear. It is well known fact that her team had reached out to crypto enthusiasts in order to learn more about crypto. From this fact it is being speculated that Kamala Harris might have met up with Chris Larsen to discuss her future crypto plan. Despite the significant financial backing from Larsen, Vice President Harris still faces challenges in gaining public support. According to Polymarket, a online prediction market, Harris is currently favored by only 37.5% of users to win the 2024 election, indicating that even major contribution are not translating into strong betting odds.
