Sacramento Kings and CryptoKaiju Collaborate for the First Physical Crypto-Collectible

The famous basketball team,  Sacramento Kings, made a massive announcement for basketball fans and crypto owners. The renowned team is collaborating with CryptoKaiju, the creators of the first Ethereum-powered vinyl toys, to introduce the first-of-its-kind physical collection of NFTs based on professional sports! The scavenger hunt for the same will be hosted by the Kings in the first week of November and will continue throughout the 2019-20 season. The lucky fans will get the opportunity to acquire any one of the 100 limited-edition Kaiju toys.

Every toy in this crypto collection is based on a distinctive NFT, which means all the Kaijus will differ in terms of features and specifications. The Kaijus are completely traceable on the blockchain. After collecting 15 of these rare Kaiju toys, the non-fungible token will disclose an exciting reward for the collectors, such as VIP tours, Courtside Seats, and genuinely signed Kings merchandise.

Sharing his opinion on the collaboration with the CryptoKaiju, the Chief Operating Officer of Sacramento Kings, Ryan Montaya, said it will be highly beneficial for their fans if they utilize more blockchain in their business line. He said that the Kings are highly excited to launch these rare, limited-edition crypto collectibles that will offer an immersive experience to their fans! He said that the collaboration with CryptoKaiju is a promising opportunity to use technology that will give birth to innovative products for their fanbase.

About the same, the founder of CryptoKaiju, Oliver Carding, said that they are truly honored to be collaborating with the Sacramento Kings, a team so enamored with innovations in the technology sector that they understand the potential of blockchain’s role in the collectibles industry. He said that the NFT collectibles are perfect for tech-loving sports enthusiasts. With the rising popularity of these collectible tokens, various sports teams will soon release their collectibles that will synchronously link the physical and digital aspects of the sports. He also said he is privileged to be the leading force in this landmarking movement!

This massive collaboration is the first among the Kings’ efforts to smoothen the way for technological innovations in sports. In 2014, the Sacramento Kings achieved the title of being the first NBA team to accept Bitcoin as a payment method. It also became the first professional sports team in the world that mined cryptocurrency! To utilize the mined funds appropriately, they conducted a charity program called MiningForGood, which made donations for the development and training of the community. Last week, they announced the first blockchain-based rewarding program of NBA in partnership with Blockparty.

The Sacramento Kings are royal, not only on the field but in the field of predictive gaming also. At the start of this year, they launched the first truly dedicated platform for a free-to-play, in-arena predictive gaming experience. Furthermore, the team has also been rewarded with various titles by renowned sports companies such as “The Most Innovative Company in Sports,” “Most Tech Savvy Team of 2016”, and “Facility of the Year” by the Fast Company, Sport Techie, and Sports Business Journal, respectively.
