Solana’s crypto-focused Saga goes live for pre-order

Solana enters the mobile industry with a little bit of doubt. It recently announced the launch of Saga, a crypto-focused mobile phone for users. It will be officially launched on May 8, 2023; however, interested buyers can pre-order their units on the official website of Saga Mobile.

It costs approximately $1,000, with shipping fees varying based on the buyer’s location. The development comes ten months after Solana teased the idea of coming up with a crypto-ready mobile phone.

First things first, Saga is depicted as a crypt-ready mobile phone for the kind of features it carries. Users will no longer have to worry about storing their private keys since Saga will assist them with the same. Also, Solana’s crypto-based mobile phone will act as a crypto hardware wallet, providing users with a lot of opportunities.

Saga’s technical specifications are pretty impressive. It is backed by Android’s operating system and comes loaded with 512 GB of storage. The front OLED screen is 6.67 inches in dimension, and the Saga has two back cameras for a total of 50 + 12 megapixels. The mobile platform uses the capabilities of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, surprising everyone with a fingerprint scanner that can alternatively be used to sign transactions.

The private key stored in Solana’s Saga can be used in any decentralized application.

However, the launch comes with some of the ‘employees’ reportedly doubting its future success. It is being said that Saga is too dependent on crypto, making it vulnerable to the downfall of the digital industry. True, unless Solana has ensured that it can broaden its horizons at any moment.

For now, Saga is said to be in an evolving stage, where the team is looking to cover as many aspects as possible.

Buyers of the mobile device will be eligible to claim a reward: a unique, device-bound, non-transferable, non-fungible token. Several dApps will also be rewarding the buyers of Saga. These include Dialect, Magic Eden, Honeyland, and Genopets, among many others.

To top it all off, buyers will have a chance to mint a Claynosaurz non-fungible token from the collection titled Claynosaurz: Call of Saga.
