Sons Of Mars Integrates Chainlink VRF For Better User Experience
Sons of Mars published a blog post to announce that it has integrated Chainlink VRF. The integration is crucial as it grants Sons of Mars access to the tamper-proof and auditable source of randomness that will assist Sons of Mars in enhancing the user experience.
A winner for the NFT battle Royale Experience will be selected randomly, offering users a transparent and provable fair in-game experience.
Chainlink VRF, short for Verifiable Random Function, has been integrated by Sons of Mars on the Ethereum mainnet. It will improve the experience by randomly eliminating Roman Warrior NFTs during the Battle Royales.
Chainlink VRF was selected after reviewing numerous options. Features that favored Chainlink VRF were its time-tested oracle network, cutting-edge academic research, and guaranteed security through generation & on-chain verification of cryptographic proofs.
Alessandro Frosali, the Founder of Sons of Mars, appreciated Chainlink VRF by saying that it was the key to proving to the users of Sons of Mars that verifiable randomness is deployed to eliminate players in the Battle Royale.
RNG Solutions were important to identify that one Roman Warrior NFT that must be eliminated. For that purpose, Sons of Mars leveraged Chainlink VRF to tackle the core issue of dealing with several security considerations.
Manipulations are common, but they can still be tackled with a reliable partner, ensuring users that the result is fair and that they can track it publicly. In other words, having Chainlink VRF by its side gives Sons of Mars the power to assure its users about system integrity.
For example, Blockchain-derived RNG systems are readily manipulable. In contrast, the off-chain data are not transparent and barely provide users with proof of the system’s integrity.
Chainlink VRF deals with those points carefully to craft a better and provably fair user experience.
When a request is submitted, Chainlink VRF combines anonymous block data with the oracle node’s pre-committed encryption key to produce a random number and a cryptographic proof. The random number input accepted by the smart contract of Sons of Mars accepts the random number input only if the cryptographic proof holds validity on the network.
The VRF process must be tamper-proof to generate cryptographic proof, giving users the automated and verifiable assurance directly on-chain that eliminations are random without tampering.
Sons of Mars is an NFT collection wherein 5555 Roman Warriors engage in a battle at the arena of OpenSea. The battle goes on for 40 days, after which all the warriors will be transformed into classic Roman Statue except for one that will be crowned Mars Incarnate.
The owner of Mars Incarnate will have an option to either hold the NFT or to sell it for 200 ETH.
