Stellar Foundation’s New CEO is a Former Mozilla COO

In 2015, Stellar revealed that it would be integrating with Vumi. Vumi is an open-sourced messaging service which uses cellphone talk time as currency. In the same year, the company joined hands with Oradian which is a cloud-based banking software company. It was done so that many microfinance institutions in Nigeria can be included in the network. In 2016, Deloitte Digital Bank and Stellar came together. In the same year, it included many financial institutions across the world.

In October 2017, Stellar partnered with IBM and KlickEx to serve the South Pacific region.

In December 2017, Stellar partnered with SureRemit, and in the last year, Stellar allowed Mobius Network to run its initial coin offering (ICO) on its network.

Now, this known and expanding blockchain platform has changed its top-level management and has included former Mozilla COO Denelle Dixon as a new CEO of Stellar. Mozilla Firefox is an open-source internet browser. She has taken the place of Jed McCaleb who is now the new chief architect at Stellar who would focus on protocol growth and adoption strategies. Dixon would head a nonprofit organization of Stellar which will be promoting the top-ten cryptocurrency Lumens.

In a statement to the media, Denelle Dixon stated that her goal

“will be to listen, learn, support and do. I want to help move Stellar to the place it seems to be, and that’s how it starts. More to come once I start.” She further said that “This is my first role in the crypto space officially. It’s awesome and exciting.”

Jed McCaleb (a former CEO) said that she has a

“long experience leading operations and business at Mozilla, as well as her work on the policy side, with advocacy around Open Internet and encryption and privacy, will be indispensable to SDF in the coming years.”

The world has seen her inclination and interest in new age technologies when she made Mozilla launch the data-protecting browser extension ‘Facebook Container’. This was within merely a few hours after the news of Cambridge Analytica scandal came out.

On asking about her experience and thoughts, she said

“As Mozilla’s COO, I led the organization’s ongoing fight for Net Neutrality. I led the global effort to ensure that people can control their personal data”.
