Nasdaq

The Nasdaq Stock Market (or known as Nasdaq) is a stock exchange in America. It is the second-largest stock exchange in the world, after the New York Stock Exchange and both of them are located in the same city. The exchange platform is owned by Nasdaq Inc which also owns the Nasdaq Nordic (previously known as OMX) and the Nasdaq Baltic stock market network along with various other U.S. stock and options exchanges. “Nasdaq” was an acronym at the beginning for the National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations. It was formed in 1971 by the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), which divested itself of Nasdaq in a series of sales in 2000 and 2001. The Nasdaq Stock Market began trading on February 8, 1971. It was the world’s first electronic stock market.
