TRON Climbs on Crypto Rankings in China to Claim 3rd Spot

TRON has had a fantastic run in 2019, barring the canceled Warren Buffett lunch. The crypto project grew significantly in terms of the user base, dApps, and general adoption. The massive leaps the token has taken after getting autonomy from Ethereum in June last year, it has managed to climb the crypto rankings and is now placed 3rd in China.

In a tweet on earlier today, TRON chief Justin Sun said that the token was rated 3rd in the list if 37 top cryptocurrencies, which is based on technology, innovation, and application. The ranking report is prepared by the Centre of Information and Industry Development (CCID) and is christened Global Public Blockchain Technology Assessment Index.

The report updated on 31st July is the 13th monthly report, since its inception last year. EOS tops the list, with Ethereum, NULS, and GXChain standing at second, fourth, and fifth spots respectively. Bitcoin, surprisingly, is still out of the top 10, at 11th position, though climbing four spots from the previous rankings.

The list gives the TRON  community something to cheer after a series of disappointments arising due to the cancellation of the Power of One Lunch with Warren Buffett. Sun had secured the lunch date with the global investment master, by paying $4.57 million via an auction sale towards GLIDE Foundation. However, the lunch was first postponed, citing “health issues”, and then, was called off. Sun had admitted that he was “too immature” to over publicize the event. The saga got even more dramatic when Sun was found partying in San Francisco in a developers’ meet.

After rumors of Sun and his team being detained by Chinese authorities, demanding cancellation of the lunch, the recent rankings negate the rumors that the authorities are against TRON. The TRXColony account on Twitter said,

If China is so against #Tron, why would they release a report ranking $TRX the #3 #crypto in the world? Ahead of $BTC, $XRP, $LTC, etc…
