Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey Re-confirms his Prediction Regarding ‘Native’ Internet Currency

After Coinlist’s CEO, it is a CEO of one of the most popular social networking service on the internet ‘Twitter’, who is talking about Bitcoin. The Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey had already given his bullish insights about Bitcoin in mid-May 2018. At an interview with American comedian and podcast host Joe Rogan, Dorsey re-affirmed his approach about Bitcoin.

Here he spoke about the “native” Internet currency, saying, “I believe the Internet will have a native currency and I don’t know if it’s Bitcoin. I think it will be [Bitcoin] given all the tests it has been through and the principles behind it, how it was created.” Previously, he said something quite similar predicting Bitcoin as a choice for the internet’s native currency. He asserted further, “Bitcoin was something that was born on the internet, that was developed on the internet, that was tested on the internet…It is of the internet.”

Dorsey also manages a non-Twitter company named Square, which is a mobile payments firm. Square also enables Bitcoin trading service on its platform. When Rogan asked the CEO about his plans to add other cryptos to the app, Dorsey answered that there are no such plans for the firm Square. Additionally, when he was asked whether he sees any pushback concerning Bitcoin, he responded suggesting to just look at some of the significant banks and their attitude towards Bitcoin. Dorsey says that due to blockchain’s efficiencies, it is beneficial for the financial institution’s business and potentially new business lines. But he also pointed out the issue saying that this technology is “certainly threatening to certain services behind banks and financial institutions, it’s threatening to some governments as well…”

Dorsey believes that the internet is moving to the setup where the data will remain online permanently. In the interview, he reveals that his team has made a children’s book, which elaborates about Bitcoin. Notably, this interview of the Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey received 38 thousand dislikes and 5.7 thousand likes.

Moreover, back in 2018, Dorsey expressed at the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce noting that blockchain could be deployed to fight problems such as misinformation and scams.
