TRON has announced that the new Odyssey 3.6 version mainnet update will be released very soon. The Odyssey update will focus on improving the security of the platform and enhancing usability and convenience.

The announcement was made via a blog post on Medium, where the company stated that its new update would be lightweight, or in simple terms, simplicity focused and power efficient.

The blog also listed the new features of the Odyssey update, which include:

  • New instructions for TVM, “including create2, bitwise shifting, and extcodehash, supporting more new features.”
  • Implementing a lightweight built-in event server, which would make customizing own event service convenient.
  • Enhance protocol data scrutiny to avoid “malicious data on the chain.”
  • Optimize the network and, “the block/transaction broadcasting process for gRPC/HTTP interface, further improving the stability of the TRON network.”

TRON is among the fastest blockchain networks and claims to perform a whopping 2,000 transaction per second. To understand this relatively, Ethereum processes just 25 transactions in a second, while Bitcoin does just 3-6. In its blog, the company stated,

The TRON public chain enjoys a transaction per second (TPS) of tens of thousands and maximizes user engagement to its ecosystem with free access and strong incentives. Developers can use the TRON Protocol and the TVM to develop applications both for themselves and the community.
