VeChain Foundation Launched VeChain World Summit On Thursday, Developers Invited To Create Innovative dApps

Blockchain technology is moving strongly and is a technological force to reckon with in the 21st Century. The space has spread its wings over most sectors across the globe, and the development has shown no signs of slowing down.

One of the most active blockchain platforms in recent times has been VeChain, which has shown great intent for development and expansion. The platform has already partnered with several existing and new crypto players, which has boosted its overall reach and capabilities. Recently, the platform was in the news for partnering with the super successful series Game of Thrones and Adidas, which required VeChain to supply blockchain based NFC chips for special GoT edition sneakers designed by the one and only Mr. Sabotage.

Apart from this, VeChain has been working extensively towards integrating blockchain technology with supply chains, logistics, automobiles, Internet of Things IoT, Government Departments and Blockchain based Identities. During its Global Release of Achievements of COSMOPlat Industrial Eco Brand Platforms event earlier this month, Haier, the global leader in consumer electronics and home appliances, announced that that it had entered a strategic partnership with VeChain Foundation.

However, VeChain still seems to be hungry for innovation and development which is not a bad thing at all. Earlier on Wednesday, VeChain Foundation announced its new event, VeChain World Summit, via Twitter. The Event was launched on Thursday, 18th April. The Summit is being held in San Francisco.

In its official blog medium.com, VeChain stated that it had received 22 applications built on top of the VeChainThor Blockchain, via the first VeChain Application Development Challenge. This, according to the blog, encouraged the foundation to organize an event on a larger event scale, which would allow developers to showcase VeChain based products. The summit includes an application hub, developer information center, and developer forum.

Innovation was one of the key reasons behind the success of blockchain technology; however, apart from the initial activities, space had become stagnant until 2017. But the main boost came last year when venture capitals invested $5 billion in blockchain start-ups, a significant bump from the previous year’s $1.5 billion.

Also, in the last couple of years, major global corporations, including IBM, Microsoft, Amazon, Intel, Facebook, JPMorgan, and HSBC, have jumped in the blockchain game, which promises a bright future of the Distributed Ledger Technology. Especially, tech giants IBM and TCS are leading the charge in blockchain innovation, expansion, and development.

VeChain World Summit is the first of its kind hosted by the Foundation, and it offers participants an opportunity to build their network by showcasing their unique skill sets in building blockchain based solutions. As mentioned in the blog, VeChain Foundation desires to enable start-ups to create valuable transactions for the ecosystem. It was also said that developer support and value creation are among the foundation’s top priorities for 2019.
