Vitalik Buterin Shares His Views of Next 5-10 Years of ETH2

Ethereum creator and chief, Vitalik Buterin, shared an infographic roadmap on Wednesday via Twitter, which indicates what the future could be for ETH2 in the next 5-10 years. However, he stated that the roadmap is a reflection of his own views and others may have an altogether different perspective.

When the entire crypto industry is bleeding due to the impact of the Coronavirus outbreak in at least 176 countries, Buterin’s tweet is almost like a reminder that no matter what, the industry must focus on the future development. Challenges like the current BTC crash of 50% will come and go, but only those projects that have a formidable plan and a strong core will survive through the testing times.

In a couple of his tweets in the thread, Vitalik Buterin said,

“In general, over the last 2 years there has been a solid shift from “blue sky” research, trying to understand what is possible, to concrete research and development, trying to optimize specific primitives that we know are implementable and implement them. We know much more about the capabilities and limits of proof of stake, security models of sharding, etc. Thanks to the hard work of many, moon math like ZK-SNARKs is looking increasingly down-to-earth.”

Despite other major names in the industry like Changpeng Zhao, Brad Garlinghouse, Justin Sun, Anthony Pompliano, etc., have expressed their concerns over the COVID-19 outbreak and its potential impact in the crypto industry and human life in general, Vitalik Buterin has been quite understated in this regard, a characteristic which is quite apparent in his behavior at all times.

Putting forward a complex infographic for the community to analyze will definitely give a much-needed break to the users to try and focus on something while they continue to remain indoors to prevent the spread of novel Coronavirus. In his thread, Buterin also assured that the ETH2 project would be considerably less complex, as many changes are directed towards reducing complexity.
