AIWORK is a decentralized, open-source blockchain protocol and ecosystem developed on a combined network of a community of human experts and AI computing resources. Through the utilization of this project’s services, users can come up with normalized and enhanced metadata for video content.
In a nutshell, the platform’s blockchain network facilitates a marketplace of crowdsourced AI human experts who create, verify, and validate AI data. With this approach, developers can come up with decentralized applications (DApps) built on the AIWORK protocol. Users of the platform can also run AI nodes or provide their knowledge, thereby receiving $AIWORK tokens as rewards.
The project has its trademarked content safety index called the ContentGraph. By utilizing AI to define a confidence score for several content safety attributes, the platform can distinguish among different content suitability scores, like nudity, adult, offensive language, hate speech, violence, guns, alcohol, religion, and many more.
The definition of AI is “the theory and development of computer systems able to carry out tasks that normally require human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and translation between languages.” Rapid growth has been experienced in this field, especially with the development of practical applications and services, such as self-driving cars, text, image translation, as well as face, object, and voice recognition.
AIWORK recognizes the true inherent potential held by AI, especially in the normalized classification and tagging of videos at scale. However, the project understands that this technology isn’t perfect. It requires human intelligence for verification, validation, and correction, coupled with training – this helps it better understand and recognize certain patterns and characteristics.
At AIWORK, there are AI job requestors that act as the links between the data jobs and the protocol’s human expert network. These requestors are also tasked with paying with the project’s utility tokens, $AIWORK. In a nutshell, the tokens get exchanged for the AI data work completed and verified by human experts and validators, respectively.
The AI human experts are involved in taking part in simple micro-tasks of verifying the AI’s output. They can also be called upon to come up with additional metadata that is hard to generate using AI – they then feed the AI network with relevant results to teach and improve upon.
Finally, there are AI validators who verify the tasks completed by human experts. These validators have to begin their verification process by first staking $AIWORK tokens for the right to conduct these validation tasks while also adhering to the consensus; therefore, they can lose a portion of the staked tokens if their performance is contrary to the consensus.
Blockchain Technologies Powering AIWORK
The project is built on a standard Ethereum blockchain coupled with the Plasma Network. All the platform’s video metadata will be anchored to the Ethereum blockchain, and DApps will access the data with ease and either spend or earn $AIWORK tokens.
AIWORK elected to utilize Ethereum’s blockchain technology due to its robust nature, unrivalled DApps ecosystem, security, and strong immutability features. These features improve the performance and power of Plasma, especially with the added feature of Ethereum’s public verifiability.
While AIWORK is implemented on the Plasma Network, $AIWORK is built as an ERC-20 token that runs on the Ethereum mainnet. Plasma is a blockchain scaling solution focused on enabling the creation of ‘child’ blockchains anchored to the main Ethereum blockchain. The project plans on having independent nodes and blockchain in AIWORK Plasma Network, independent of Ethereum.
AIWORK is also working on building an Open Video Search Engine on top of its platform- this blockchain protocol and ecosystem will be opened for use by third parties, such as advertisers, content distributors, and publishers. The project’s blockchain implementation will attain broad adoption and network effects by introducing smart contracts between service providers, content owners, advertisers, and distributors.
AIWORK’s Path Ahead
The project’s combination of human experts and AI computing resources serve as its backbone for giving rise to normalized and enhanced metadata for video content. Using this enhanced metadata, the project can develop a foundation for its first decentralized application – an open video search engine that is completely decentralized, indexed, and maintained by the growing AIWORK community.
