  • The funds will provide the affected areas and groups with essential supplied, shelter and long-term recovery support.
  • Crypto Philanthropy may hit $89 billion mark by 2035.

Several floods that swept through central Vietnam in November have displaced thousands of residents, caused widespread damage to homes, roads, and essential infrastructure. Many of the local and international groups have quickly coordinated to carry out relief operations. Binance Charity, the philanthropic division of global blockchain firm Binance, is also one of those groups. The firm has announced today, November 25, 2025, on social media platform X, that it will donate 200,000 US dollars to aid immediate emergency efforts and support long-term rebuilding in the hardest-hit areas.

The donation, valued at approximately 5.3 billion Vietnamese dong, was officially committed on November 21, during a meeting in Ho Chi Minh City between representatives of Binance Charity and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF), the national body looking after and directing major relief initiative across the affected provinces.

Emergency Assistance and Rebuilding Support

Binance Charity stated that the funds will be directed toward helping families in the most severely affected areas and these areas will obtain goods, temporary shelter and other critical necessities as recovery and reconstruction efforts begin. The project also aims at helping with long-term rebuilding efforts, supporting people as they restore their livelihoods and get the local economy back to normal after the floods.

Mr. Nguyễn Hải Nam, Deputy Chief of the VFF, thanked Binance Charity for the timely support and stated  “the good leaves protect the torn ones.” This proverb indicates that Binance’s donation reflect the spirit of helping and protecting one another in difficult times.

Strengthening Regional Humanitarian Engagement

Seker SB, Head of Asia-Pacific at Binance, said that the donation is part of Binance’s broader support for Southeast Asian communities and hopes it will ease the impact of floods. Binance Charity has also worked with various partners in Vietnam on relief, environmental, and community development projects in recent years.

Track Record of Support in Vietnam

This donation is not a new one. Binance had made efforts in the past as well to help communities in Vietnam. In 2024,the group ran an emergency campaign after Typhoon Yagi and sent one million dollars worth of BNB to people who were affected. The team has also worked with local authorities to install large water filtration systems in ten Mekong Delta provinces where saltwater has been damaging homes and farmland.

Binance charity also teamed up with the Earthworm Foundation in Binh Thuan and will be planting 10,000 trees to help restore damaged forests. In addition, it worked with Giggle Academy on education programs for children in underserved areas. All of these efforts indicate the group’s goal of using technology to support people and environment.

Rapid Growth and Impactful Examples of Crypto Philanthropy

Crypto Philanthropy is on the rise and it is changing the way charity works. As the transactions are carried out on-line, they are fast, borderless and the best part, the transactions can be easily tracked. In 2024, more than $1 billion have been donated in cryptocurrency to non-profits. It is being said that donations will reach $2.5 billion in 2025.

A prime example is the Pineapple Fund, which was started in 2017 by an anonymous donor who gave more than $86 million in Bitcoin to various causes.

CZ donated more than half a million dollars in crypto to earthquake relief efforts in Myanmar and Thailand, and contributed about $100,000 to support victims of a rug pull scam. CZ has expressed intentions to donate up to 99% of his wealth, showing a strong commitment to philanthropy using crypto often emphasizing transparency and leveraging blockchain enabled charity projects.
