A small group of crypto executives met with the U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick before President Donald Trump’s White House remarks. According to sources, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, 16z Crypto founder Mark Andreessen, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, and FalconX-CEO Arjun Sethi were among those who met with Howard Lutnick. The group also addressed the roadblocks to passing the legislation, inclusive of ethic-related issues, and how the White House could find a route towards a bipartisan agreement.
The meeting came shortly before Trump discussed the crypto industry at the White House. As further information from the White House Crypto Summit, Trump called on Congress to pass the legislation as a part of his broader push to keep the U.S. as a Bitcoin leader. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse also emphasized the huge size of the American crypto user base. In a post on X, Garlinghouse said, 67 million Americans now hold crypto, arguing that the niche has moved beyond a small market and that the crypto voter is now crucial.
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said that the administration was dedicated to passing the Clarity act. As per Armstrong’s X post, regulators, SEC Chair Paul Atkins and CFTC Chairman Mike Selig are on the same wavelength, while Congress has set a date for the legislation.
Trump Highlights Hyperliquid As Crypto Pushes for US Growth
Trump used the White House event to recapitulate his support for the crypto niche, saying that “he had ended the war on crypto once and for all.” He also called on Congress to pass the Clarity Act and said that the U.S. was working to be the undisputed leader in the Bitcoin and crypto industry. One of the key developments talked about Hyperliquid. Trump said CFTC Chairman Mike Selig was working on bringing Hyperliquid into the United States in a regulated manner.
Hyperliquid’s HYPE token rose about 15%, to $69, subsequently to Trump’s comments. At the timing of writing, the price of the HYPE token stands at $71.82 with an uptick of 23.2% in the last 24-hours as per CoinGecko.
