Tron Founder Pokes Fun At Vitalik Buterin, Co-Founder of Ethereum

Once again, the co-founder of Ethereum Vitalik Buterin has been jibed at by Justin Sun, the co-founder of Tron.

On Sunday, Justin took to the microblogging site Twitter and promised to make a dedicated monument in Ethereum’s honour the moment Tron’s digital currency defeats the former which is the 2nd biggest crypto in terms of market capitalization currently. Tron, on the other hand, sits at the 11th rank.

In his tweet, Justin also showered praises on Buterin for his valuable contribution in the industry of blockchain so far. However, given the camaraderie (or should we say rivalry) the two have shared thus far, these “praises” only make you read between the lines.

What’s the Reason Behind this Sudden Gesture?

It was only recently that China’s Center for Information and Industry Development ranked Tron as the 2nd cryptocurrency followed by Ethereum at the 3rd position in its latest rankings of digital currencies. The ranking has EOS as the top-ranked crypto. Acquiring the 2nd position over ETH must have been the reason for happiness for Justin who then didn’t leave the chance and went on to mock the Ethereum co-founder.

It must be noted that the ranking has remained unchanged from its previous issue for the top 3 positions. The previous issue was disclosed late last month. The ranking criteria that the entity uses cover innovation, applicability and basic technology.

The Famous Rivalry

For all those who follow crypto world religiously know the enmity between Justin and Buterin extremely well. Earlier in March 2019 during the Unchained podcast, the Ethereum co-founder had exclaimed that if Ethereum is overtaken by any other blockchain then he would not be resentful. He went on to add that if at all Tron happens to be that blockchain then certainly he would lose a little hope for humanity.

While Justin takes Ethereum as one of Tron’s strong competitors, apparently Buterin doesn’t feel the same about Tron. When asked in that podcast about Ethereum’s competitors, Buterin took the name of Dfinity, as reported by Breaker Mag.

In the previous month, there was a video of Buterin that was doing the rounds on social media where he was seen mentioning BitTorrent, the decentralized network for file-sharing. After watching the video, Tron supporters believed that Ethereum co-founder was applauding the network which was attained by the Tron Foundation in the past year.

At that time too, Justin had trolled Buterin for his obsession over BitTorrent.

Later, Buterin quickly cleared the facts saying that video was shot in 2017 much before Tron went on to acquire BitTorrent.

Looking at all the happenings, it appears that the rivalry between these two is not going to end so soon.
