New York Times in US is Looking Ahead to Test the Blockchain Technology for Blockchain Based Publishing

The second largest newspaper of the United States, the New York Times, a storied organization in American journalism, is looking forward to experimenting in the blockchain technology for the newspaper publishing.

New York Times is one of the largest and most trusted names when referring to journalism and is considered as the best of American journalism. From the past few years, the New York Times has been pushing for innovation, and it seems that the NYT is all eyeing on the blockchain technology for publishing news.

On Wednesday, it was revealed on the Times website that the media institution is searching for someone who can help to develop a blockchain based proof of concept for publishing.

The New York Times is thinking of starting the project and searching for a forward-looking leader who will be able to work on the proof of concept’s subject for the period of 12 months within the research and development division of the company. The post was later removed.

The New York Times now seems to be popping over the latest technology innovations. The job title that was mentioned on their website was ‘Lead, Blockchain Exploration’.  The person who will be selected for the post should be able to create a vision statement like how NYT is focusing on blockchain to solve the problems of the company and what will be taking place in 2019.

The newly hired employee for the post of Blockchain Exploration Lead will be responsible to create a brand for the blockchain based project and create a website for the research project. The person will also be responsible for the recruitment and selection process. The new employee will code the vision for the research project and will share the vision with key stakeholders across other media organizations and support the brand, develop a public entity and also create assets for the research project.

Another aim will be of creating a pool of the project’s shareholders and also search for advisors from various news institutions, academia, and social media companies.

The New York Times backs the use of blockchain technology since long. The media organization has published several stories related to technology. The project that it had published is about Demystifying the blockchain in recent times.

The use of blockchain in journalism was running around from some time now.
